American Job Center Moves to New Offices

STAMFORD , CT– The American Job Center, formerly known as the CTWorks Center, will move in to new offices effective tomorrow, May 7.

The new location is at Inspirica at 141 Franklin Street in Stamford.

The Center offers a wide range of services to all jobseekers, including job listings and resources, Jobs First Employment Services Case Management, computer classes, ReEntry Works, and Workforce Investment Act training scholarships, for people who meet income and other eligibility guidelines.

Hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the phone number is (203) 353-1702. The Center was formerly located at 1642 Bedford St. with the state Department of Social Services. Phone numbers and email addresses for all staff remains the same.

The American Job Center is operated by Career Resources Inc. and is part of a system including main offices in Bridgeport and additional locations in Stamford, Danbury, Derby and Norwalk.  Career Resources Inc. (CRI)  is a non-profit providing youth and adults with the training and support to become employed and succeed in the workforce. As the operator of the American Job Center Bridgeport, Career Resources serves job seekers and employers with skills, training and support to help jobseekers meet employer needs and establish a career path for continued growth. CRI’s programs include STRIVE attitudinal job readiness training in Bridgeport, Hartford and New Haven; JFES Case Management in northwestern and southwestern Connecticut;  Adult Basic Education and GED preparation and testing; and  Fathers for Life, ReEntry Works and specialized job placement for mature workers and those with disabilities.
