Career Resources, Inc. Awarded $822,000 from STRIVE National to Serve Juvenile Offenders in Bridgeport and Hartford!

Career Resources, Inc. (CRI) has been awarded a 26-month, $822,000 grant by STRIVE National to expand our services to formerly incarcerated youth through a new Department of Labor initiative called STRIVE for the Future.

The grant enables CRI to serve 80 youth, 14 years and older from high-poverty, high-crime communities in Hartford and Bridgeport who have never been involved in the adult criminal system, but have been involved in the juvenile justice system in the past 12 months.

“These young people deserve a chance to turn their lives around,” said Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis. “The federal grants announced today will help vulnerable youth receive the training and support they need to gain valuable job skills and improve their long-term employment prospects.”

Along with our community partners, CRI will provide career development, training and education and support services, as well as engage youth in community service projects, mentoring and violence reduction efforts.

This loan enables CRI and our public and private investors to continue our mission to change lives, strengthen families and rebuild communities.
