The Workforce Investment Act, or WIA, is a federally-funded program that can pay for occupational training in a qualified area of interest to you.  You are automatically eligible for the program if you are receiving unemployment and you may also be eligible if you meet income and other guidelines.  The grants will subsidize your training up to $3,000. This money is paid directly to the training entity (college, vocational school, etc). To get your training scholarship you must complete the WIA Portfolio process, which includes Key Train and O-Net assessment, available at the new CTWorks@Cary Crooks Center and other CTWorks locations. Other documentation is also required.

Complete CTWorks Center services are also availbale to the public at 350 Fairfield Ave. in Bridgeport: Computer labs, adult education, job listing, Earned Benefits Outreach, Fathers for Life, and more.
