ENTRY POINT STAFFING

Launched by Career Resources, Inc. (CRI) in 2020, Entry Point Staffing is a first-of-its-kind workforce training and temporary staffing program for system-impacted individuals across the state.

All associates are assessed at intake and receive the necessary training through the nationally recognized STRIVE program. Agency staff work closely with employers to create a pipeline of trained, motivated workers via a well-coordinated, timely, and effective job placement program. In turn, businesses gain access to pre-vetted and experienced workers that have access to case management services and coaching.

THE NEED

In Fairfield County, nearly 600 justice-involved citizens are released from prison each year, and the many challenges they face lead to high recidivism rates. Their common denominator is a lack of access to economic viability, and the employment opportunities and life supports needed to reintegrate into society.

THE IMPACT

50%:

Connecticut recidivism rate for returning citizens with no support services

5%:

After completing 6 months employment, recidivism rates significantly decrease

INVESTING IN SECOND CHANCES

In Connecticut, it costs $90,885 per year to incarcerate a person.
By this metric, when 100 formerly incarcerated people are employed at a minimum wage job of $15 per hour,

Connecticut saves $9,000,000+.
