CRI’s STRIVE program recently completed a weeklong training for two groups of teens as part of the Mayor’s Summer Youth Initiative.
The program is featured in this video and story in the Norwalk edition of “It’s Relevant.”
From the story:
Priyanka Thakkar, a first time participant said “The training is great so you know what to expect. A lot of people don’t know what to expect in the workplace and when they go there, they have no idea what to do. Getting this experience gives us an idea of what we have to do right now and in the future.”
Specialists say the training is not only important for the students, but for the employers as well.
“We are helping them see that you are actually going to be embracing a young professional. We can guarantee you that when these young people come into your office, they are going to be just as enthusiastic and ready to get the job done,” said (STRIVE Trainer Dawn Marie) Williams.
