JOB SUMMARY: This individual leads the daily operations of workforce development services for American Job Center customers and businesses served in the SW region of Connecticut. The VP is responsible for managing performance and operational improvement initiatives to meet and exceed WIOA and JFES performance, to enhance system delivery and to excel at business and job seeker customer satisfaction. The VP is responsible for creating a culture of strong customer service towards businesses and jobseekers by empowering staff to achieve goals while constantly innovating and improving service delivery and program operations.


  • Supervise, motivate and evaluate staff of AJC SW.
  • Direct, plan, or implement policies, objectives, or activities of organizations or businesses to ensure continuing operations, to maximize returns on investments, or to increase productivity.
  • Manage all aspects of intensive WIOA and JFES case management and training services within the AJC/Southwest
  • Analyze operations to evaluate performance project and its staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change
  • Identify staff skill deficiencies and coordinate staff development training activities to foster improvement and thereby service delivery
  • Oversee the documentation and approval process of eligibility determination for WIOA adults and dislocated workers.
  • Assist in the planning, development and training of all staff in WIOA and TANF regulations and performance
  • Manage the establishment of Individual Training Accounts and manage the financial records necessary for the production of accurate monthly reports and benchmark payments to participating providers.
  • Manage staff responsible for the monitoring of WIOA and JFES files to assure compliance to all state and federal guidelines and coordinate the scheduling of monitoring visits by state, federal or private auditors.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate program performance to assure that JFES and WIOA state and federally mandated performance standards are met.
  • Collect data, analyze information, and prepare statistical and narrative reports as required by various funding
  • Review reports submitted by staff members to recommend approval or to suggest
  • Assist in Management and long term planning for the agency.

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Education or Business Management and/or five years of related work
  • Demonstrated knowledge of JFES and WIOA requirements and ability to interpret contractual
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Minimum of 5 years direct supervisory
  • Strong financial management and reporting
