STRIVE New Haven’s Job Fair yesterday is featured in today’s New Haven Independent.
Reporter Megan Jordan describes Handshake 101 and other elements well known to STRIVE students and graduates.
Employers were impressed:
“Diane Turner, director of Yale University Hiring Initiatives, described the fair as ‘outstanding.’ Turner has worked with STRIVE for two and a half years. ‘I have not been disappointed, they are great to work with. I think they [students] have done homework on the areas they wanted to work in. They were receptive to critiques and approached with confidence with a clear sense of what they wanted to do.’ ”

Some STRIVE staff are also graduates and described the impact STRIVE has had on their lives.
” ‘Totally impacted my life for the positive,’ said (Matilda) Bonilla. ‘I was out of work for a long time. It has transitioned me from not being employed to being employed. It impacts lives in a amazing way.’ “
