Voter Registration and Other Services at CRI Career Fair

Common Cause Senior Organizer Kim Hines was very pleased with her outcomes at today’s Community Career Fair.

“We registered a lot of people to vote today. One woman had a criminal record and didn’t realize that she had not lost her right to vote,” Hynes said. “She also found some great job leads – so she was very happy.”

Hynes was one of more than 60 exhibitors and employers taking part at the event, which this year moved to a larger venue in the Webster Bank Arena. As of 1 p.m. an estimated 2,000 jobseekers had taken part.  Dignitaries stopping by included Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and Senator Andres Ayala.

“I want to take the time to thank  all of the staff at CRI for the outstanding job that you did today at the Job Fair,” said CRI President/CEO Scott K. Wilderman. “Your professionalism, dedication and attention to detail was noted by so many of the employers and arena management! Together you made this the most successful job fair in the past 18 years!”

Sponsors of the event are Career Resources Inc., The WorkPlace Inc., the Connecticut Department of Labor, Housatonic Community College and Webster Bank Arena.
